Road Trip to Maryland

Liliana took her first big road trip to Maryland for Easter. She did pretty well in the car, although she didn't sleep as much as we hoped she would. She slept for the first two hours and we stopped to feed and change her when she woke up. She was wide awake for most of the ride after that, however we only had to stop once more for another feeding and diaper change. So a normal 6 hour drive ended up taking 7 hours. Not too bad for her first road trip.

Liliana had a busy weekend meeting friends and family. On Saturday, Aunt Debbie and the Sites came over to meet Lily. Tom, Colleen, Levi and Leah stayed and cooked out for dinner with us. We spent a lot of time outside enjoying the weather while Tommy cooked on the grill and the kids played in the yard. Liliana is still not a fan of the sun. She throws her head to the side and crys if she is in the sun (and she is also not a fan of sunglasses or hats). She ended up falling asleep in Colleen's arms for an hour in the shade.

On Easter Sunday Lily had two Easter baskets waiting for her along with an Easter Lily Uncle Tommy bought for her. Later on, family came over for Easter dinner and to meet Liliana. She did well with all of the people in the house and she actually slept through most of the excitement and activity. Great Grandma Kapust was so excited to meet baby Lily. Before she left, she sang Lily a song that she also sang to all of her daughters and granddaughters. Lily smiled and laughed as Great Grandma sang to her.
