Keeping Busy in Colorado

Lately we have been so busy here that we have not had a chance to update the blog. Our friends from North Carolina moved here two weeks ago, so we have been busy hosting dinners and taking trips around town with them. It has been awesome having some friends from Pope here. What's even better is that we can see their new home from our driveway!

We have also been working on a few projects around the house this month. Varun will be leaving next month on a deployment so we wanted to work on the new home a little before he left. We are getting a patio built this week and over the next few weeks we will be working on Liliana's playroom! Varun's plan is to build a day bed for the playroom which will also give us an extra place for guests to sleep. Here is his plan. He is so excited to buy some new tools and get started. He'd also like to build a workbench for the garage, but we're not so sure all of that is going to happen before he deploys.

Finally, the crawling has begun!

7 Months Old

Our little peanut turned 7 months old on Friday! We cannot believe how fast time is flying by! We do not have an update this month on her growth, but we think she is finally starting to gain more weight since she is eating more solids. At our last appointmet, the doc told us to offer her solids at least three times a day and we think that it has helped. Some of her new favorite foods are black beans, canteloupe, and mum mums.

Liliana changed so much in the last month. Here are some things Liliana is doing at 7 months:

* She can pull herself up into a standing position. At first she would grab on to our hands to pull herself up, now we find her using anything that is near to stand up on her own.

* She is now sleeping 10-11 hours a night! Some nights she sleeps completely through the night, others she wakes once at about 5am to eat.

* Lily just started to clap her hands together this week. She loves to watch us clap and has finally figured out how to clap hers.

* She is a dancer. Liliana LOVES music and has become a dancing machine! She shakes her head and body when music is played.

* Liliana is fascinated by Finnegan. She watches him as he runs around the house playing fetch and reaches for him whenever he is near. If we turn our heads for a second, we will find Liliana with a handful of white and gray hairs in her hand from Finnegan's tail.

* She sits in restaurant highchairs and shopping carts now. This makes going out to much easier!


She loves her new toy piano! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the present!

Labor Day 2010

Christina's parents came to visit us for their 30th wedding anniversay. They were here for about a week and got to spend Labor Day weekend with us. Since we now have furniture and our house is in order, we were so excited to have visitors. We had a busy week showing them around Colorado. We went to a Colorado Rockies game, Rocky Mountain National Park, Horsetooth Mountain, Old Town Fort Collins and Fort Fun. We also had more visitors come on Saturday. Christina's cousin and his family from South Dakota stopped by for a cookout. It was great to see them while Christina's parents were in town.

Colorado Rockies

Christina's parents flew in Wednesday night, so last night we all took a trip to see the Colorado Rockies play the Philadelphia Phillies in Denver. It was sunny and about 70 degrees which was the perfect weather for a baseball game! Coors Field was a really nice stadium and the game was a close one although the Rockies ended up losing 12-11. Liliana had a blast! She danced and laughed for most of the game. She even met the mascot and got his autograph. After the game we all headed over to a local brewery for dinner and a beer. We had a great time!
