Playdate and a Snow Day

Liliana finally got to meet baby Ronan! They had fun playing with jingle bells and Lily's new shakers. Ronan even brought a snowsuit over for Liliana so she could enjoy the few inches of snow we got the other day. She was not too sure what to think of the snow. Maybe next time she'll enjoy it more.

10 Months

Liliana is 10 Months old! Uncle Tommy was here to celebrate her 10th month. We had a nice day relaxing at home in the morning and enjoying the unusually warm weather at the park in the afternoon.

What is Liliana up to at 10 Months?

* She now has 5 teeth with another on the way! She has two bottom teeth and 3 top teeth.

* She is still a very good eater. Some of the new foods she liked this month were eggs (will only eat them fried with cheese), oranges, raspberries, and peas.

* Liliana now calls Finnegan dog. She loves to point at him with two fingers and yell, "dog dog dog!" When I take her out of the crib in the morning, she looks around frantically for Finnegan while saying dog until she finds him.

* She continues to test her balance by standing unassisted. She has mastered the art of cruising between furniture and objects and is on her way to walking any day now.

Sneaky Baby

Over the weekend I finished up the rest of my Christmas shopping...yay! On Saturday I made my last stop walmart and Target getting stocking stuffers Liliana (just some a few small necessities like socks, onesies, and a new sippy cup). I had already wrapped the larger gifts under the tree, so I just tossed the stocking stuffers towards the back of tree behind some larger gifts so Lily and Finnegan would not get to them.

Fast forward to this morning. I was enjoying a morning cup of coffee and watching the Today Show while Lily and Finnegan were playing on together on the floor. I heard some rustling noises come from behind the Christmas Tree. I assumed it was Finnegan trying to get to the stuffed snowmen under the tree (he has a little obesession with stuffed toys), but I looked up to see Finnegan sitting on the arm of the couch looking down at the tree. I looked back there and saw that it was Liliana making all of that noise. She crawled behind the tree and found her stocking stuffers. She had the sippy cup in one hand and the pack of onesies in the other. I tried to get to the camera as fast as I could to take a picture of the sneaky baby!

Thanksgiving and 9 Month Stats

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Varun's parents came to Colorado last week to celebrate Thanksgiving with us. We had a good time shopping, eating, watching movies, and of course playing with Liliana. Here are some pictures from their visit.

Shortly before Thanksgiving, Lily had her 9 month appointment and flu shot. She now weighs 15 pounds 8 ounces is 27.25 inches long. Although she is still on the small side, the doctor said she doing great!

9 Months and First Snowfall

Liliana turned 9 months old on Wednesday! Our little 9 month old is a ball of energy. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with her! She is crawling all over the place, standing and climbing, dancing, and wiggling non-stop. It's very difficult to get her dressed and change her diaper now. It was almost impossible to keep her still for a 9 month photo!

Here are some things Liliana is up to at 9 months:

* Lily has had three teeth pop through in the last two weeks! She now had 2 bottom teeth and one top tooth. It looks like all of her teeth decided to come at once...by the way she is drooling this week, I think there are more on the way soon!

* Liliana gives the best hugs and kisses! This month she has started to hug and kiss me in the morning when I take her out of the crib. She will grab my face and give me a sloppy kiss on either the cheek or chin.

* Lily is waving. She loves to wave and babble at everyone she passes by. She is quite the social baby at the grocery store and Target.

* She recognizes Daddy on Skype. When she hears the Skype ringer, she immediately pulls herself up to the computer and says da da da da (getting louder with each da)!

* Lily loves to eat! Some new foods she tried this month were homemade mac and cheese, cottage cheese, spinach, and blueberries. Hopefully all of this eating has helped her to gain more weight. We will see next week when she has her 9 month appointment.



Fort Collins also got it's first snowfall of the season this week. Yesterday we had about 4 inches of snow fall. Finnegan had a blast running around in the backyard snow! I wanted to take Liliana out in snow, but I have not found snow boots yet that fit her. She'll have to wait for the next snow day to play.

Lily's Chair and Kitchen

Over the last week Liliana recieved two early Christmas gifts! Since we will be traveling by plane over the holidays, we will not be able to bring back any big items with us. Grandma Kapust flew in to Denver last week to visit us. While we were in Denver to pick her up from the airport we took a detour to Pottery Barn Kids to pick up one of Liliana's Christmas presents. I bought the green and white Anywhere Chair that we have wanted to for a long time for Lily. The chair will look great in Lily's new playroom which is still a work in progress! Since Varun will still be gone over Christmas and I will be in Maryland, we decided to put it together early so Lily could enjoy it before we travel. As I was paying for the chair I was thinking this better be worth the high price tag. We put it together the next morning and she LOVES it so much more that I thought she would! She's been climbing and sitting in it everyday. (So has Finnegan!)

Lily also got an early gift from Grandma. We took a trip to Toys R Us while Grandma was here and found a Fisher Price Play Kitchen that was small enough for Liliana to use. So we picked up the kitchen and a small shopping cart filled with food. We put together the kitchen while my mom was here so she could see Lily play with it. She loved this gift and Grandma enjoyed watching her play with it! She can spend 30 minutes playing all alone with that little kitchen! I am going to wait to give her the shopping cart since she can't walk on her own yet. We'll let her open that in January when Varun gets back.

One Week Down!

It has been exactly a week since Varun left for deployment. Although Liliana and I have been pretty busy, we miss him a ton! Luckily, we have been able to see each other on Skype almost every day. We feel like Lily has changed so much since he left just a week ago. For the longest time Liliana was dealing with some sore gums and a ton of drooling. We were hoping that her first tooth would arrive before Varun left on last Tuesday. Well, it decided to wait until Tuesday night to break though! Of course Lily will not let me get anywhere near her mouth for a picture so Varun has not yet seen the little first tooth. She is also starting to get courageous with her standing and walking. She will now try to stand unassisted and make little movements with her feet. I don't think she is going to wait until Varun returns in January to take her first steps! I'm sure there will be many more changes over the next few months!

We are very fortunate to have some awesome neighbors with lots of kids nearby. We also joined a MOMS Club in Fort Collins, which has events almost every day of the week to attend. So, Liliana and I have not had a chance to get too lonely yet because we have had so much to do lately!

Last week we went to Tiny Tot Halloween in Old Town Fort Collins with some friends and neighbors. Liliana wore her Monkey costume again and strolled around town dressed up. She was even allowed to have her first piece of candy! She enjoyed her raspberry dum dum as we walked down College Ave.



We had a girls night out with another deployed airforce spouse and girlfriend on Friday night. I debated getting a sitter for Liliana, but decided to take her along. We went out for wine and tapas at a local cafe in Fort Collins. We had a such great time tasting different foods and wine! Liliana was definitely the only baby at the place, but she got so much attention while we were there!

On Saturday, we were surprised with a delivery! Varun and I decided to get a new camera when he deployed so I could learn a little about photography. We ordered the Canon Rebel 2ti and it arrived a few days early. I spent much of Saturday trying to figure out how to use this new camera. Here are some of the photos a took. (I am still pretty clueless on how to work this camera!)








On Sunday, Liliana got to wear the monkey costume for a third and final time! We passed out candy with our friend Beth on Halloween night. We sat outside and talked with neighbors as tons of kids came by. As the trick or treaters started to slow down, we took Lily for a little walk to visit a few friends and say hi. We had a great time!
