Disney on Ice

Over the weekend we all went to see Disney on Ice at the Budweiser Events Center. Since Lily has been obsessed with Minnie Mouse lately, we thought that she would enjoy in. She loved every bit of it and sat still during the entire 2 hour show. She was dressed up in her Minnie Mouse dress and talked about the show all weekend. The twins were great during the show as well, just one little moment of crying from one of them that lasted only 2 minutes or so. We can't wait to go again next year!

St. Patrick's Day

We had a gorgeous 80 degree day here on Saturday. We got the kids up early and enjoyed a breakfast out before the annual St. Patrick's Day parade in Old Town Fort Collins. We met up with a friend and her twin girls to watch the parade and the kids had such a good time. We saw the CSU cheerleaders, a ton of dogs, horses, a dance team performance, and so many floats with balloons and music. The girls collected a bagful of candy at the parade and were on quiter a sugar hight. Even Jacob and Julia were happy during the entire two hour event.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Around 7:30 every morning we hear Lily singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Although the words are completely off, she has the tune down. Lately this has been her favorite song by far. She will sing in her bed, in the car, while eating snack, and we have caught her recently singing the song to the babies. One night before bed last night Lily asked to hold Julia in the glider. We sat Jules in Lily's lap and immediately she began to sing. I ran to get the camera hoping that she would continue to sing once I got back to the room. I caught the last half of her singing lullaby.

Fun at the Park

We had a beautiful spring-like day here in Colorado today. We took the kids to the park this morning since Varun was home during the day. It was so nice to spend some time outside without the cold and the wind of winter. We had a great time and hope to do something similar tomorrow since it will be even warmer!

Little Peanuts

Julia and Jacob are 4 months old! They are both doing well and changing every day. Jacob has changed a lot in the last month. He does not scream nearly as much as he used to and is becoming much more relaxed. He is no longer taking zantac for his reflux since we didn't think it was making a big difference. We decided to try rice cereal to help instead. I have been pumping once a day to give both babies a bottle before bed so Varun could help out with the bedtime feedings since it's such a hectic time of the evening. We started putting a small teaspoon in Jacob's night bottle a few weeks ago and with the doctor's okay, we slowly started to put more in each night. We think the rice cereal is helping him at night. He is now waking just once a night and seems to happier as well. Julia is still Miss Mellow. She rarely cries and seems content almost all of the time. She will gulp down an 8 ounce bottle before bed and sleep 11-12 hours without waking. We are going to start her on rice cereal as well with her night bottle.

With Lily, we did not start solids until she was about 6 months old, but Jacob and Julia are both little peanuts. At their 4 month appointment last week Jacob was 10 pounds 12 ounces and 24 inches, while Julia was 10 pounds 10 ounces and 24.5 inches. Both babies are at the bottom of the growth chart and Jacob is almost off of the chart. We are going to try to fit in some extra feedings along with the rice cereal to help them gain more weight. We will see next month at a weight check if it's working.

Happy Birthday Lily!

Lily is two! Yesterday was Lily's second birthday. We celebrated at home as family with pizza, ice cream sundaes and presents. She had such a great time. She loved her pepperoni pizza and ice cream and loved her gifts even more. We wish we had the camera on and ready to capture her excitement over the big gift (her new bike) as Daddy brought it in from the garage after dinner. She must have said "wow!" at least 10 times!




Today we continued the celebration with a Minnie Mouse brunch with friends and neighbors. Lily had so much fun witth kids, food, and presents this morning. She got to dress up in her Minnie Mouse dress and we had a ton of balloons and pink decor around the house. We had 8 other kids come over including two more sets of twins as well as a few friends of ours without kids. The kids played in the playroom and basement while the adults enjoyed morning mimosas and coffee. We had quiche, mini frittatas, salad, fruit, curry chicken salad, and of course delicious chocolate raspberry cupcakes (made by our neighbors)for brunch.

February Fun

February has started off as a busy, but fun month so far with snow, a date night, and a superbowl party all in one weekend. Last week most of the state got a ton of snow. We only had about 6 inches fall here in Fort Collins, but some parts of the state had 2-3 feet of snow with blizzad conditions. We wished for a little more than the 6 inches we had, but it was a good thing we were not in the bulls eye of storm. Varun and I had planned a night out with friends to see Dralion, a Cirque du Solei show that was in town at the Budweiser Events Center. We had luckily got tickets to the sold out show and had an awesome babysitter willing to watch all three kids lined up for the night. While most of Colorado was shut down for two days, the show was still on and we were able to have an awesome night out without the kids.

The last few times it has snowed Lily was not a fan of the cold wet stuff. We took her out to play on Saturday morning expecting her to cry and want to come back in after 5 minutes. She was a little hesistant to come out at first and just stood in the garage for a while. Once she stepped outside she had a blast! She played in the snow for over an hour and had so much fun. We had a hard time getting her to come back inside for lunch.







After a busy weekend, we have spent most of this week hanging out at home and getting things ready for Lily's 2nd Birthday Party coming up this weekend. I have been working a few decorations (which if they come out right I'll post them this weekend) and Lily had been right next to me working on a few crafts of her own. This girl LOVES art. She has been coloring and painting so much lately.





Jacob and Julia are doing well. They both starting to stay awake more and have started to explore things, like hands, feet, and toys.
