Lily's New Room

Last weekend we moved Lily to the smaller bedroom across the hall to make room for the twins nursery. We bought her new bedding and curtains, and converted her crib to a toddler bed to make the move more exciting for her. She LOVES her new bedroom! She sneaks away often during the day to her bedroom and we find her sitting on the floor or in her green chair reading books. She has also been sleeping and napping so well in there. Most nights she sleeps almost 12 hours without making a peep and she is still napping two hours a day even with the toddler bed change. Finnegan even loves the new room. We think he enjoys being able to jump on the bed with her. Here are a few pictures of her new bedroom. We still have a few small things to add, but all of her stuff is now moved.

Hanging Around the House

With the recent heat wave, we have been spending much of our day indoors lately. Lily has been a ball of energy since we haven't been able to play outside other than after dinner in the evenings. Luckily, we picked up some new toys for Lily at the neighborhood garage sale last weekend so she has plenty of new things to play with inside the house. Here are some pictures of Lily just hanging out at home this week.

4th of July

We hope everyone had a fun and safe July 4th! Varun had a 4 day weekend over the 4th so we were able to catch up on stuff and get together with friends after being out of town for almost 2 weeks. We kept busy with two cookouts, a neighborhood pool party, and of course fireworks on the 4th. Luckily we were able to watch the fireworks set of in Windsor from our street so we did not have drive anywhere. A few neighbors also let off some pretty good ones behind our house. We did not take a lot of pictures over the weekend but we were able to snap a few of Lily watching fireworks last night with some of the neighborhood kids.

Happy 4th of July!!!

The BIG Ultrasound

Yesterday was our first full day back from vacation and we had our big 20 week ultrasound scheduled. As soon as we landed the day prior, Varun got news that he had to fly the following morning which meant that he would have to miss the one and only ultrasound of the pregnancy. There was absolutely no other navs that could fly the next day so we were disappointed that Varun may miss the one chance to get a sneak peak at the little one. Luckily, he was able to switch to an evening flight so he could make it to the appointment.

When the ultrasound tech began to scan she had asked us if we had any other ultrasounds so far. We thought nothing of the question and told her this was our first and only one of the pregnancy (since our insurance only covers one). She then asked if twins ran in my family. I started to get a funny feeling after telling her no. She looked at us both and said, "well you're having twins!" We were both completely shocked!!! The funny thing is, I have been joking with Varun for a while about having twins since I had horrible morning sickness and have gained so much more weight with this pregnancy than with Lily.

We are still not over the shocking news and have a lot of planning to do since our due date is now moved up to October. We were able to find out that Baby A was a boy, but we are still unsure of what Baby B is. Hopefully we will find out at our next appointment because we will now have an ultrasound every time we go in.

C-130 Flight

On our way home from NC we were able to catch a flight back from Pope on one a C-130 from Cheyenne. It was nice to not have to worry about airports and security and the hassle of flying commercial. We were also able to relax a little more and stretch out on the flight which was great for Lily. We will definitely fly space A again since it was convenient and free! Before we took off we were able to show Lily parts of the plane. She got to sit in the pilot and nav seats and try on Daddy's head set. She has had a recent fascination with planes, so she loved it! OBX 2011

We just back from a busy but fun trip to the east coast. We spent much of our time at the Outer Banks in North Carolina. This year we stayed in Kill Devil Hills with Christina's parents, brother, aunt, uncle, and cousin. This was Liliana's second trip to the beach. Last year when we took out Outer Banks trip, she was only 4 months old so the trip was entirely different this time around. She had a blast! She loved playing in the sand and even got courageous towards the end of the week with the ocean water.

Most of our time was spent hanging out at the beach, playing games, and cooking out. On Father's Day we went to a seafood buffet and bought kite so Lily and Varun could spend some time together flying kites on the beach. Lily attempted to play mini-golf for the first time one night after dinner. She only lasted one hole, but we think she enjoyed running around the golf course while we finished the game. We also took a trip to Jockey's Ridge while we were there to check out the hang gliders and sand dunes. Our week at the beach flew by and we can't wait to go back next year!

Summer Fun

We have been enjoying the awesome summer weather in Colorado over the last few weeks. With all the neighborhood kids out of school, there is always something going on outside. Liliana has been loving the big kids and we think they love her as well. Every other day the doorbell rings and of course it is always a small group of girls asking if Lily can come play with them. She has become quite the social butterfly!

Over the weekend the weather was absolutely beautiful here! We were busy the entire weekend. On Friday night we had a community BBQ. The street behind our neighborhood entrance was blocked off for the party. There was catered BBQ for dinner and a band there. Lily had a blast singing, dancing, and running around with her big kid friends. The next morning we had a birthday party at a playhouse for a two year old we know. After an hour nap we went straight to Old Town for the Taste of Fort Collins festival. We planned on only staying an hour or two since we had been so busy all day but we ended up staying for almost 5 hours! We met up with a group of Air Force friends and neighbors and listened to the Third Eye Blind concert while munching on local food and desserts. Sunday was not quite as busy, so we took Lily to the pool and had a few friends over for dinner to complete the busy but fun weekend.
